Pain that won’t go away? Acupuncture can help.

Whether you hurt your back last week or have lived with sore joints for years, Dr. Kim can help. She uses acupuncture and herbal formulas, which works well alongside care from your doctor or physiotherapist.

How acupuncture helps

Short-term injury or long-term pain

Acute pain

Recent injuries, sprains and flare-ups. Many patients notice relief soon after treatment, as acupuncture can support the body’s own production of pain-relieving chemicals (endorphins).

How it can help

  • Eases pain after an injury

  • May help ease inflammation and swelling

  • Supports recovery as you heal

Chronic pain

Pain that has lasted weeks, months or years. Regular sessions can help you manage ongoing conditions, and Dr. Kim looks at the imbalances behind your pain, not only where it hurts.

How it can help

  • Helps manage arthritis, migraines and back pain

  • May improve mobility and reduce stiffness

  • Supports your overall balance and everyday comfort

Acupuncture offers a drug-free approach that can work alongside your conventional care. Individual results vary.

Questions

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are very fine. Most people feel little or only a mild sensation, and many find treatment relaxing.
No-needle options are available.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on whether the pain is recent or long-standing.
Dr. Kim will suggest a plan at your first visit and review it as you improve.

Can I combine it with physiotherapy or my medication?

Yes. Acupuncture is often used alongside other care. Tell us about any treatments or medications so we can plan safely.

Is it covered by insurance?

Many extended health plans cover acupuncture. We can bill many insurers directly — see our list of insurers.
